Everybody at Equalis loves to work in community services training. It really makes for a committed and dedicated team. So, it shouldn't really surprise you to learn that we were nominated for (and won) the award for New South Wales' 'Small Training Provider of the Year'. With results like this, we are reminded how hard the entire team works to design and deliver innovative training solutions (for example online training alongside the traditional face-to-face training methods) for all students. This means that while our team is based in Sydney, we deliver online training courses to students across Australia including Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth... Well, you get the idea.

NARELLE HENRY"Trust more, worry less." Narelle, Director of Equalis, has worked in the community services sector for over 22 years. Having worked in the government sector for ten years, she took the bold move to establish Equalis in 2000. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? Helping people achieve their educational and professional dreams, changing people’s thinking, mentoring staff and the flexibility of owning my own business. Outside of work, what do you love? Hugs from my boys, long walks along the coastline, feeling accomplished when the washing up is done, drinking great wine and spending time with my family. PETA BOLLENWith a Bachelor degree in Exercise Science & Rehabilitation, Peta has worked in Injury Management and as an Exercise Physiologist before joining Equalis in 2004. Peta is the Equalis Associate for the Sydney Region, the Workplace Trainer & Assessor, and manager of Sydney based training contracts. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? Seeing people achieve their qualifications when they didn’t think they could do it. And also working with the amazing Equalis team! Outside of work, what do you love? Playing sport – especially touch football and netball, catching up with family and friends and watching the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs! What's your hidden talent or secret skill (come on, everyone has one)? I can reverse park a car perfectly! Thing that makes you go "grrr"... People who don’t know how to drive properly. NADINE PRICE"Live your best life" Nadine joined Equalis in 2003 and is an Associate. She has worked as an early childhood educator, disability support worker and as a trainer/consultant in the Community Services Industry to name just a few of her previous roles. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? Working with people, seeing change with people, flexibility, the team I work with and being personally challenged. Outside of work, what do you love? I love enjoying a coffee while reading the Saturday morning paper, taking a run or stroll on the beach, playing netball, reading gossip magazines, dining out in fine restaurants and surrounding myself with positive people. What's your hidden talent or secret skill (come on, everyone has one)? I’m really good at posting photos on Facebook. Thing that makes you go "grrr"... Intolerance and judgmental people. I will never be seen without... Paw Paw cream. Dream holiday destination... It would have to be enjoying a different destination every year! |

KATE MANTLE"Where there’s a will there’s a way” Having completed a Diploma in Management in 2000, Kate has worked as an office manager in a number of industries. She joined Equalis in 2005 as an office administrator and just one year later took over as the RTO Manager. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? The people I work with make my job very enjoyable. I also relish the constant challenges of learning new programs and gaining experience in the training sector. Outside of work, what do you love? I’m pretty social, I love planning the social calendar for the month ahead, meeting new people and establishing new friendships. I also enjoy learning Jamie Oliver’s 30 minute recipes and hanging out with my Children What's your hidden talent or secret skill (come on, everyone has one)? I have a Private Pilot’s License. Thing that makes you go "grrr"... Someone touching me with cold hands. Argh! I will never be seen without... My phone. Dream holiday destination... Travelling around the world with unlimited funds. |

INES ZANIN"Stay still and life will pass you by…" With a background working in parliamentary, administration and health services roles, Ines joined Equalis in 2006 as an Administration Officer. Ines has also worked within the family home caring for her children. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? I enjoy the atmosphere of working with vibrant young women as it makes me feel young and still part of the living. Outside of work, what do you love? I enjoy sewing and walking. I also enjoy spending time with my cat and dog, my family and my sexy husband. What's your hidden talent or secret skill (come on, everyone has one)? That is to remain a secret...it will only be released 50 years following my death. Thing that makes you go "grrr"... JAN CLOGG"If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well" Jan is a skilled accountant with both practical and technical skills. Jan is a "systems" specialist and strongly believes the accounting function of a business needs to "FIT" a business to contribute to success. Her role is to tailor an accounting solution to meet Equalis' needs and give Narelle and the team the freedom to focus on the core business and passion of training. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? Working with vibrant people who are passionate about what they do. Outside of work, what do you love? Pilates, good coffee, excellent Gin, The Eagles & Elvis (not necessary in that order!) AND Oska & Lilli, my beautiful Himalayans, who own me. ERIKA GLEESON"Choose life!" With a Bachelors degree in Behavioural Science and Communications, Erika has recently joined the Equalis team as a Clinician. Erika has experience working in the realms of Relationship Psychology and Behaviour Management in both Australia and the United Kingdom. What do you enjoy most about your position at Equalis? I love how varied my role is. I love the people I work alongside of. And I love seeing people achieve their goals within fields of study that I am very passionate about. Outside of work, what do you love? Anything outdoors that involves being active, travelling, reading, good music and spending time with family and friends. What's your hidden talent or secret skill (come on, everyone has one)? I'm a pretty mean hula-hooper. Thing that makes you go "grrr"... Animal cruelty. I'm a bit of a Greenie.
